Hello, it is a new year and I am excited to introduce myself as your new chamber president. I established my business, Technique Auto Salon, in 2002. It doesn’t seem like it was all that long ago that I opened my doors and pulled the first car into my shop. If my memory serves me correctly within a matter of days I had Carl from CL Printing in my door telling me to call the Redmond Chamber and get signed up. Soon thereafter Molly from the Chamber was enthusiastically telling me the benefits that members are offered. I attended my first coffee clatter, signed up as soon as possible, and the rest is history. Carl I thank you for this advice as it has served not only my business but me as a person. I saw back then the incredible value that the Chamber offered and knew I had to be a part of it. I had no idea where my relationship with the chamber would take me and my business, or what vast opportunities I would have to give back to this organization.
I was born and raised in Redmond and have always felt a strong desire to contribute to my community and to give back to the town I grew up in. I felt from the beginning the Chamber was the right fit for me to be involved, learn about my community, and expand my business opportunities. My first step to becoming more involved was to accept a position as a Chamber Ambassador where I gained vast knowledge of the inner workings of the organization. I was then fortunate enough to be in class two of Leadership Redmond. Without a doubt Leadership Redmond was the single best opportunity I have had to solidify my involvement. I am very dedicated to this program currently serving my seventh year on the Leadership Board of Directors, twice as president, twice as secretary. Through the years I have also been active in Redmond OHA, Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation, the Adopt A Road program, and many various other organizations and charities.
I would encourage anyone in our community who has a drive to get involved to do so! I had such a drive and with the help of Leadership and the Chamber I have been able to achieve my goals. There are many ways to be part of our community not limited to volunteerism, joining a board, joining a service group or enrolling in Leadership Redmond. From my own experience if you give to something, whatever that is, you will receive it back many times over.
